Blog Posts Every Monday!

I have decided I will be blogging every Monday!

The past two weeks have flown by! Between PT three times a week, strength three times a week, and cardio six times a week, my days quickly pass by. This past week I hopped on some rollerskis for the first time since my surgery! I was able to complete two sessions of 15 minutes of double poling on the treadmill.

I must say rehab is not easy! It is as much as a physical battle as it is a mental battle. What I have learned over the past few weeks is that concentration and focus is key to recovering well. Double poling, which used to be a task that I didn’t have to think too much about, is now something that requires all my attention. I was happy to have Bryan Fish there for my first two sessions so I could have someone there to correct my technique and support me. PT is also quite the workout and the exercises can be quite challenging, but thanks to my awesome PT Jen, she makes it fun and often does the exercises with me. Jen even lead a cripple crew hike for all of us rehabbers! It was my first time in the Uintas and I really enjoyed it!

I have recently done quite a bit of swimming for my workouts because it is an excuse for me to get out of the gym and into the sun…yes, I have become a gym rat. Thanks to Noah Hoffman’s girlfriend Emilia, I am able to borrow her waterproof iPod and headphones, making the hours in the pool even more exciting!

This week was the Partner Summit for USSA, which means all of our big sponsors and trustees come to town for two days. Thursday evening the aerialist put on a show for everyone at the UOP (Utah Olympic Park). I was really impressed and excited to see some familiar faces. It was also a great opportunity to socialize and network with some really cool people!

Two nights ago, I headed to Canyons with Lynn and Rick (my wonderful host family) for an outdoor concert!

And tonight I headed to Salt Lake City for a concert at Red Butte Garden to see Sugar Ray, Uncle Cracker, Better than Ezra, and Eve 6!
